Lazy cats and busy bees

It’s a garden full of ripening tomatoes, melons, peppers, and we are busy plucking peas, lettuce, and beans, strawberries and little courgettes, with all the sense of urgency that brings. Echoed by the relentless hum as the late spring air is filled with the beating of the wings of thousands of insects. The bees and other insects, seem to be on a nonstop pollinating and making honey mission, positively gorging on the abundant pollen of all the wildflowers as well as the flowering vegetable patch.

Meanwhile, neither the teens nor the farm cats seem to have caught that particular sense of urgency.
